Similar reports made about suspicious woman in Ira Township, New Baltimore

CLAY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are investigating separate reports this week of a middle-aged white woman approaching young children in Ira Township and New Baltimore.

Police say a woman reported a white panel van, driven by an older woman, approached her young granddaughter on Sunday in Ira Township. The woman talked to the child before driving away.

"We have received no other complaints that would relate to this incident," said Lt. Michael Koach in a post on the Clay Township Police Department's Facebook page. "We have nothing to indicate that the subject in the vehicle was attempting any criminal activity."

In New Baltimore, police responded to a similar report about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. A white woman between 40 and 50 years old exited a van and approached a 6-year-old boy. Police say the mother of the child yelled to him and the woman entered her vehicle and left. The vehicle was described as a possibly white minivan with rusty wheel wells.

Anyone with information regarding these reports needs to contact the Clay Township Police Department at 810-794-9381.
