The Coast Guard was able to rescue one man clinging to the hull of the capsized boat.

He was lifted into the helicopter and transported to the Bay City Medical Center. He is currently listed in stable condition.

He told police that after the boat capsized the men decided they would swim to the nearest ice floe, but he returned to the capsized boat to await rescue and has not seen the second man since.

Rescue crews from Tuscola County Fire and Police Departments and a rescue airboat crew from Huron County also responded to the call.

Sunday morning around 8 a.m., the Coast Guard along with the Huron County Sheriff's rescue team began searching with underwater cameras for the second missing man.

The Coast Guard says a seven-hour search of the surrounding water and ice failed to locate the other man.
