DETROIT - The widely anticipated $200 million expansion of Detroit's Cobo Center is starting to get under way on the exterior.
Crews were seen putting giant support beams in place outside the building on Washington Boulevard.
The project includes a 25,000-square-foot expansion to the front and back of the building and extensive remodeling.
Upgrades include the plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems and revamping food options.
Everything is expected to be done by 2014.
