Court hearing Thursday for woman charged in crockpot crime

DETROIT – A preliminary hearing is scheduled Thursday for a Detroit woman who is accused of beating her friend to death with a Crock-Pot.

Tewana E. Sullivan, 50, is charged with first-degree murder in Cheryl Livy's death.

Sullivan allegedly used the kitchen appliance to beat Livy inside her Livonia apartment on Oct. 22 when the two got into a fight.

Livy, 66, was hospitalized for more than a week before she was taken off life support and died from her injuries.
