FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – Residents of the Independence Commons Subdivision in Farmington Hills are being asked be on the lookout for a pair of coyotes roaming the neighborhood.

Residents of the subdivision, which is located south of 11 Mile and west of Drake, have reported seeing the coyotes for the past week.
People who live in the area are being asked to keep a close eye on their small pets and children.

Mark Evans, of Critters Be Gone, caught the coyote weeks ago in a snare.
"If you see a coyote during the day he's getting way too comfortable," Evans said. "That's the time it needs to be trapped."
Evans says these may be majestic looking animals but they are wild and can be very dangerous. That's why he has a Department of Natural Resources Nuisance Animal permit to catch the coyotes. He also teaches others how to do it.
"I teach them how to protect their yards and their own property from their pets being injured and even children," he said.
