Reward offered to catch Dearborn bank robber

DEARBORN, Mich. – A cash reward of up to $11,000 is being offered for for information that leads to a man police say has robbed at least three banks in Dearborn.

Dearborn Police Chief Ron Haddad said the first robbery was May 31 at the Charter One bank branch at 23801 Michigan Avenue. The robber entered the bank, approached the teller and implied that he was armed while demanding money.

Since that date, two additional banks in Dearborn have been robbed by the same man -- The Comerica Bank branch at 13335 Warren Ave on June 20, and the Chase Bank at 7301 Wyoming Ave. on July 16. In all three incidents, the man escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and likely fled the area in an awaiting vehicle, Haddad said.

The man is described as black, medium complexion, in his 30s, approximately 6 feet tall, average build, and approximately 180 lbs. He has been seen wearing sunglasses and a baseball hat.
