Crime Stoppers offers $5,000 reward in young couple's murder

DETROIT – Crime Stoppers is offering a reward to help renew efforts to catch the person who shot and killed a young couple.

Rosemary Chyz, 19, of Clinton Township, and her boyfriend Tony Velez, 22, of Sterling Heights, were found shot to death on Detroit's east side in October of 2011.

Their bodies were discovered in a vacant field near Girandin and Heintz Streets.

Anthony's parents and Crime Stoppers of Michigan are asking the public to help bring the person or persons responsible for murdering the pair to justice.

A $5,000 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers of Michigan for information that leads to an arrest.
