Crying babies welcome at select AMC Theatres matinee

Going to the movie theater is often a next-to-impossible task for parents with babies at home.  Normally it requires a babysitter, and if one isn't available -- parents will forgo seeing a film on the big screen and stay home with their little one.

But not anymore.

On the first Tuesday of every month, The Bump and AMC Theatres present Bring Your Baby Matinees.  This new program allows parents to bring their children to the movies in a baby-friendly zone.  Breastfeeding is expected and parents won't get dirty looks for crying babies.  The lights will be kept on to make seeing the diaper bag much easier, and the sound level will be lower to prevent children from being startled.   There will even be designated areas for stroller parking.

You can feel good about having some fun, too.  Part of your ticket purchase will go to the Will Rogers Institute, a nonprofit that provides much-needed equipment to neonatal intensive care units and promotes research, treatment and education on cardio-pulmonary diseases.

This month's featured movie is "The Odd Life of Timothy Green".  The film is rated PG.
