Dash-cam video captures wild police chase in Westland

WESTLAND, Mich. – Westland police went along for quite the ride during a police chase on Lakeview Boulevard in Westland, Wednesday.

Police said they noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at the Landings apartment complex and before police could investigate, the pair fled.

The driver of the vehicle quickly sped through residential neighborhoods and dash-cam video captures the passenger throwing items out of the car, all while attempting to elude police.

The men led police across the swamp, where they threw out a gun and illegal prescription pills before running a red light.

After the two emptied the car of the paraphernalia, they stopped and surrendered to police.

Police arrested 28-year-old John Myrick and 24-year-old Rodney Grogan who commended police from the backseat of the squad car on the professionalism the officers displayed during the arrest.

Both men were charged with fleeing and eluding police along with narcotics and felony firearm.
