Dearborn police arrest man for entering unlocked cars

Juan Simmons sentenced to 45 days in jail

DEARBORN, Mich. – Dearborn police arrested a 33-year-old man after watching him enter several unlocked parked cars in the area.

Police said Juan Nehzeh Simmons, of Romulus, was attempting to steal items from the vehicles. Police responded to the area after alert residents called to report a suspicious man pulling on car door handles.

Simmons was found armed with a knife and was also wanted on numerous outstanding warrants from various communities, including Inkster, Plymouth and Westland.

Simmons pleaded guilty in Dearborn's 19th District Court to unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and violation of the knife ordinance, and was sentenced to 45 days in jail.
