DETROIT – A Michigan woman charged with welfare fraud after a Local 4 Defenders investigation will have to wait a bit longer to learn if she'll stand trial.
Amanda Clayton is charged with failing to inform the state that her income had changed as a result of the lottery prize and a job. The 25-year-old from Lincoln Park won a $1 million jackpot on the game show "Make Me Rich!" and chose a $735,000 lump sum, before taxes, last September.

She was set to appear Tuesday for a preliminary examination, but the hearing was adjourned at the defense's request.
The preliminary examination is now set for May 22.
The Defenders report prompted the state to file charges.
Local 4 Defenders revealed fraud in March
The case came to light when Local 4's Karen Drew confronted Clayton.
"I thought that they would cut me off, but since they didn't, I thought maybe it was okay because I'm not working," Clayton told Local 4.
