Defense begins arguments Tuesday in Bashara case

DETROIT – For weeks we've heard about Bob Bashara's sex dungeon, multiple mistresses he called slaves and his troubled marriage.

Tuesday, the defense will begin laying out its case as to why the jury should find Bashara not guilty of orchestrating his wife's murder.

Special Section: Jane Bashara murder investigation

After nearly a month and a half in the Bashara case, the prosecution rested. They built a mountain against Bashara, turning up people from all over the U.S. that had affiliations with him.

That's why legal expert Todd Flood said when the defense takes over Tuesday, he doubts the they'll bring in any character witnesses. So who will come to Bashara's defense? Flood said Joe Gentz.

The defense stated they'll likely bring up about five witnesses. Flood predicted they'll be mainly detectives on the murder case.

But the million dollar question is, will we see Bashara take the stand?

Flood said he doesn't think it's a good idea because Bashara has already said too many damaging things to the media.
