DETROIT – A Delta flight returning to Detroit from San Francisco made a safe landing at Detroit Metro Airport after experiencing a technical issue.

Delta flight 745 elected to return to Detroit after receiving an indication of a possible issue with one of the Boeing 767's redundant power systems.

In a statement, Delta said:

The flight landed without incident and taxied to the gate where customers deplaned normally. Customers are being provided refreshments while they await an alternate aircraft. The safety of our customers and crew is always Delta’s top priority and we apologize for the inconvenience.

The plane was a Boeing 767-300 with 244 passengers on board. Delta is sending a new aircraft to accommodate passengers in San Francisco.
