Water Shutoffs focus of Detroit bankruptcy trial this week

Detroit's bankruptcy trial resumes Monday and this week the focus will be on the controversial water shutoffs.

Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes will hold an hearing Monday morning regarding the city's policy on shutting off water to customers who are behind on their bill.

Civil rights attorneys have asked Rhodes to issue a temporary restraining order to stop the shutoffs.

Residents are hoping the Judge will implement a water affordability plan that is different from the plan put in place by Mayor Duggan.

The trial will resume Monday morning at 9 a.m.
