Detroit chop shop busted

DPD performed raid late Monday evening

DETROIT – Police have shut down a Detroit 'chop shop' after an overnight raid.

The Detroit Police Department Commercial Auto Theft Unit led the raid of the chop shop, which was near the corner of Tireman and Colfax on Detroit's west side, late Monday evening. Upon entering the building, police found 30 vehicles, all in various stages of being dismantled.

Two people were arrested in connection to the raid. Details about their exact connections to the chop shop are unknown at this time.
