WARREN - A Detroit-based dog rescue group has been selected to receive a new Toyota truck.
Detroit Dog Rescue says it's one of 100 nonprofit organizations across the U.S. picked for the automaker's 100 Cars for Good program.
The group is to receive its new Tundra on Friday at a Toyota dealership in Warren.
Toyota is giving away 100 vehicles to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days based on online votes from the public.
Detroit Dog Rescue co-founder and executive director Dan "Hush" Carlisle says his group is "very excited and honored to be one of the winners of Toyota's 100 Cars for Good."
Detroit Dog Rescue's mission is rescue as many homeless dogs as possible and establish the city's first no-kill shelter.
