DETROIT – Detroit's emergency manager has given the OK for plans that would turn the lights back on in the city.
Kevyn Orr issued an executive order Monday approving funding for the Public Lighting Authority.

The authority will work to restore power to at least 1/2 of the street lights that are out across the city.
Orr approved monthly funding of $600,000 starting May 15.
