Detroit firefighter injured battling fire in three vacant homes

DETROIT – Firefighters from the Detroit Fire Department were busy Wednesday morning battling fires in three vacant homes on the city's east side.

The fire started around 3:45 a.m. on Coventry near E. Winchester.

One firefighter was transported to the hospital with minor injuries after he fell on the ice.

At this time, the cause of the fire is not known.
