Detroit group helping people for decades now in need of help

DETROIT – John George and his group Motor City Blight Busters have been volunteering to help people in the city since George boarded up a crack house 28 years ago. More than 1,500 properties secured later, the group that has helped so much now needs help itself.

But now, George says his team was running dangerously low on materials and funds.  All the materials used to secure a dangerous home aren’t free and now MCBB needs Detroit to give back to it to help keep them going.

Shawn Ley caught up with founder John George this weekend as he was volunteering on yet another big job to ask him how we all can help.
