DETROIT -

The death Sunday of a baby on Detroit's west side is being ruled a homicide.

Police called to a home on Braile Street, north of Tireman Avenue found a one-year-old child unresponsive.  The infant died and initial reports suggested there was no sign of foul play.

But Local 4 sources Monday reported the Wayne County Medical Examiner's office determined the death was caused by blunt force trauma to the abdomen.

The death will be ruled a homicide.
