Detroit looking for host families for Japanese students

A group of Japanese students and chaperones in need of host families

DETROIT – Would you like to develop an international friendship and learn more about another culture? The city of Detroit is looking for families to host a student or a chaperone from Toyota City, Japan as part of its Sister Cities Program. Preference is given to Detroit families, but the city will consider families residing outside of Detroit for hosting.

A group of eight students and two chaperones will visit Detroit to learn more about the American culture. Tentative dates are July 23rd-Aug 7th.

During the group's visit, the city sponsors various activities such as trips to the Detroit Institute of Arts, Museum of African American History, Belle Isle, Niagara Falls and The Henry Ford Museum.

The group activities are scheduled on the weekdays which leaves the weekends and evenings open for activities with host families.
