Detroit man accused of being super drunk in hit-and-run crash

Police say Marqual Jeter drove drunk with young daughter, niece in car

RIVERVIEW, Mich. – Two young girls are safe Monday night after police said they were passengers in a car driven by a very drunk man.

Police said the man caused an accident and fled the scene.

Marqual Jeter, 35, of Detroit, is accused of being super drunk with two girls under the age of 10 in the car.

He was arrested last Saturday after a hit-and-run crash on Fort Street and King Road in Riverview.

A witness said the driver ran a red light and T-boned another car. Then, the witness said the car took off.

The driver and passenger of the car that was hit were injured and taken to the hospital.

Trenton police stopped Jeter about a mile away. Police said after they pulled him over, Jeter resisted arrest and fell to the ground like "dead weight."

The two girls inside Jeter's car were his daughter and niece. One of the girls required medical attention.

Someone who is super drunk has a blood alcohol content level above .15. In a preliminary test, police said Jeter blew a .26.
