Detroit man charged in theft of car with infant inside, which prompted Amber Alert

Donald Javar Moorlet- Porter accused of stealing car from outside liquor store

DETROIT – A 17-year-old Detroit man is facing charges for allegedly stealing a car with an infant inside earlier his month from outside a liquor store on the city's east side. 

Donald Javar Moorlet- Porter is facing unlawful driving away of a vehicle and child endangerment charges.

An Amber Alert was issued for 3-month-old Dakota Grimes on May 16 after police said her father left her in the running car outside the store, and it was stolen. 

Grimes was found unharmed several hours later after she was left on a porch.
