Missaukee County Prosecutor Melissa Ransom said Posey was part of a "drug trafficking conspiracy" that spans from Detroit to Missaukee County. Cocaine and heroin are being transported from Detroit and sold in Missaukee County, she said.

Attorney General Bill Schuette's Opiate Trafficking and Interdiction unit was formed in response to the Michigan opiate epidemic.
