DETROIT - A 32-year-old man arrested in Kentucky faces charges in a Detroit apartment building fire that forced seven people to leap from second-floor windows to the ground to escape smoke and flames.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office in Detroit says Terrell Thornton is charged with seven counts of assault with intent to murder and one count of arson. He is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Detroit's 36th District Court.
A multi-unit building on Detroit's east side was set on fire on Aug. 9. Some of the victims suffered burns. Others were injured from their falls.
