A Detroit man charged with raping and shooting a woman while she was pushing her baby in a stroller has pleaded guilty to that attack and two others.
The Wayne County prosecutor's office says Job Hughley gave pleas Monday in Circuit Court to three counts each of kidnapping and first-degree criminal sexual conduct, plus weapons charges.
Sentence agreements in two of the cases call for 25 years to 50 years in prison, and 27 years to 50 years on the third case. An additional two years will be tacked on for each weapons charge.
Each of the three women was raped in April 2012.
A May 13 sentence hearing is scheduled.
Details of the 3 cases
On April 12, 2012, it is alleged that Hughley assaulted a Detroit mother walking with her child in a stroller when he took her at gun point to the rear of 19300 Lyndon and attempted to sexually assault her. When she attempted to run from the defendant it is alleged that he shot her in the back with a hand gun.
The victim ran to the front of the location where she and the child were assisted by bystanders. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition and is being treated for her injuries. The child was found unharmed and is in the custody of relatives.
On April 10, 2012, it is alleged that Hughley sexually assaulted a 22-yer-old female in the area of the Southfield Service Drive near West Warren near Cody Middle School. It is alleged that he approached the victim and took her at gun point to the side of the school building where he sexually assaulted her. He then took her to several other locations where he sexually assaulted her. After the assault he fled the location and she immediately reported the attack to the authorities.
