DETROIT - Detroit police said a 3-year-old boy is hospitalized after accidentally shooting himself Thursday morning.
The boy's uncle, Dearres Freeman, told Local 4 he was getting ready for work inside his the home on Forrer Street -- where he lives with his mother, sister and her two children -- when he heard a "pop."
"I don't know whose gun it is. It all just happened so fast," Freeman said. "He wasn't crying or anything. He took it like a big boy."
Freeman identified the boy as Marcell Dukes.
He said the boy was recovering at Sinai-Grace Hospital.
