Detroit police say a good Samaritan who stopped to help after seeing two women being mugged was wounded in a shooting.
Sharon Robinson tells Local 4 her 59-year-old husband, Calvin, is in critical condition and medically-induced coma after being shot at least twice early Monday morning.
Robinson said her husband had just got off his shift at Central Parking near downtown's Renaissance Center when he saw what was happening and stepped in to help.
He started chasing the gunman, but was shot.
"That's the type of person he is. If something's going on, he's going to be there to help a person," Sharon Robinson said. She's been next to her husband's side ever since the incident and calls it "devastating" and an "out-of-body experience."
Security cameras captured the shooting and police are reviewing it to piece together exactly what happened.
