Detroit police: Group carjacks 91-year-old in Detroit

Victim forced out of his car near Linwood, Taylor as 4 men take off with SUV

DETROIT – Detroit police are offering a $2,000 reward for the arrest of four men who held up a 91-year-old man at gunpoint and stole his SUV.

The carjacking happened about 10:30 p.m. Monday on the city's west side near Linwood and Taylor.

Local 4 spoke with the victim's son, who said his father -- who is a WWII Navy veteran, had just gone out to pick up cough syrup when the attack happened.

Police said the robbers, one of which had a handgun, ordered the victim out of his burgundy 2004 GMC Envoy and told him to lay on the ground.

The group then got into the SUV and took off.

Police have released surveillance pictures of two of the men they are looking to question in connection with the incident.

On Wednesday, police said they had recovered the victim's SUV, but are still looking for the men.
