Detroit police: Group of men impersonate officers during crime spree

Police say men tie up 6 victims, steal televisions, shotgun, cars

DETROIT – Detroit police said they're looking for a group of men who impersonated officers and went on a crime spree early Monday morning on the city's west side.

Police said the group of three or four men invaded a home on Strathmoor Street at about 4:30 a.m. saying they were with the Detroit Police Department. Police said the group tied up six people who were inside the home and stole televisions, a shotgun and a Dodge Charger.

Police said the men then went on to commit two carjackings, one on Woodmont Avenue and one on Archdale Street.
