Detroit police investigating deadly home break-in, sexual assault on city's east side

Sources say 4 men broke into home, shooting 2 women and sexually assaulting 1 other

DETROIT – Detroit Police are investigating a deadly home invasion and sexual assault on the city's east side.

Overnight, police sources confirm to Local 4 News that four men forced their way into a home in the 600 block of Alameda, that's near 8 Mile and John R. roads.

Once inside, police say, the men shot one woman in her 40s to death. They also shot a 30-year-old woman, leaving her in serious condition.

The men also sexually assaulted a 27-year-old woman who was also in the house.

Sources say while a sexual assault kit was being prepared, the woman walked out and hasn't been seen since.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Eren Stephens won't comment on whether the woman is missing.

Police say no drugs, guns or money were found inside the women's home. It's unclear what brought the gunmen to the home.

They drove off in an unknown vehicle.
