DETROIT -

No charges will be filed in the case of a woman shot to death with the gun of an off-duty Detroit police officer at a backyard fish fry in Detroit in July 2013.

The Wayne County Prosecutor says there is insufficient evidence for criminal charges.

The victim, 24 -year-old Adaisha Miller, was shot while dancing with off-duty officer Isaac Parrish and hugging him from behind as he wore a holstered gun. The bullet punctured Miller's lung and heart.

Parrish was placed on desk duty during the investigation.
