DETROIT -

A man with a friendly demeanor and a handgun robbed a Family Dollar store on Detroit's east side last weekend.

Local 4 Defenders report the man calmly walked into the Family Dollar store on Morang Street near Kelly Road while the store was filled with customers on Sunday.

He reportedly walked up to a clerk and calmly announced a robbery.

"Sweetie, I have a gun and I need you to open the register," the robber said.

When the clerk opened the cash register, the robber grabbed all the cash he could.

He walked out of the store with $358.

No one was injured in the robbery, which is the latest in a string of robberies at Family Dollar stores.

Police are working with the store's owners to improve security while they continue to search for this robber.
