Detroit police seek man for deadly shooting at gas station

DETROIT – Detroit police have released surveillance pictures of a man they say is wanted is connection with a deadly shooting at a gas station on the city's east side.

Police say the man in the pictures can be seen on surveillance video Saturday evening approaching a woman in the BP gas station at 8 Mile and Dequindre, and then following her out to a car that was parked at a pump. Police say there was a tussle between the man, woman and another man who was in the car. Leslie White, 47, was shot and killed in the driver's seat. Shaneqwa Carr, 21, tried to run away but was shot in the leg.

Police describe the gunman as black, 5 feet 10 inches tall, slim build with braided hair. He may have arrived at the station in a white Buick Rendezvous with accident damage to the front passenger side, police said. This vehicle was also occupied by another unknown person.
