Detroit Tigers outright Don Kelly's contract to Toledo

Kelly now eligible to sign with any major league organization

DETROIT – The Detroit Tigers announced Wednesday the club has outrighted the contract of infielder/outfielder Don Kelly to Triple A Toledo.

Kelly saw action in 75 games with the Tigers during the 2012 season, batting .186 with two doubles, a triple, home run and seven RBI. He hit .233 with two doubles, a home run and 12 RBI in 20 games during the season with Toledo.

In four seasons with the Tigers (2009-12), Kelly hit .235 with 17 doubles, five triples, 17 home runs and 65 RBI in 338 games.

Kelly will elect his free agency and be eligible to sign with any of the 30 major league organizations.
