DETROIT – Jose Valverde and the Tigers have parted ways, again.
Valverde ends his career here with 119 saves in 130 chances in four seasons.

Valverde, 35, signed a minor league deal with Detroit in April 2013. He went 9 for 12 in save chances with a 5.59 ERA in 19 1/3 innings. The Tigers removed him from the roster in June.
He then pitched briefly with the Toledo Mud Hens. In 11 games there, he saved seven games with a 4.09 ERA in 11 innings.
The Tigers unconditionally released him Wednesday.

Valverde's best season was in 2011, when he was 49-for-49 in save opportunities.Â
The Tigers did not resign him after the 2012 playoffs.
