DETROIT – Detroit's attempt to break the Guinness world record for the largest gathering of ugly Christmas sweaters fell short Saturday.
The record to beat was 3,473 ugly sweaters. About 1,500 people in ugly sweaters showed up at Beacon Park for the record attempt.

While the record wasn't broken, attendees enjoyed music, hot drinks and a silent disco, which is where headphones are worn and people dance to music that isn't being played out loud.
