Detroit Youth Maker Faire coming to Eastern Market

U of M to host event encouraging students to get involved.

The "Detroit Youth Maker Faire" will be coming to Detroit's Eastern Market this August.

The University of Michigan's Ross School of Business is partnering with Detroit's Brighmoor neighborhood to host the fair, taking place on August 27, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Eastern Market.

Brightmoor students will work with U of M students to create projects and pitch them to a panel Deloitte and GM representatives. The event is open to the public and free, and will include a product pitch competition, music, free food, craft vendors, and a school supply giveaway. 

All proceeds will go toward the creation of the Brightmoor Maker Space, a creative center for Detroit youth.
