The Detroit Zoo is making a move toward being greener, by phasing out bottled water.
The zoo will reduce and then stop selling bottled water at its concession stands over the next three years. The bottles are a major source of plastic waste.
The zoo stands to lose quite a bit of money though, bottled water sales produce about $240,000 a year for the zoo.
Concession stands will begin selling reusable water bottles, with free fill-ups at seven filtered water stations inside the park.
