WASHINGTON D.C – Detroit's Cass Tech High School marching band got to show off their stuff Monday in front of hundreds of thousands at the nation's Capital for the second inauguration of President Barack Obama.
"It's a lifetime experience for us," said junior Keire Wellington. "I mean, we're probably never going to be able to see this again."

While the spotlight was on the president, the band got a bit of notoriety, too.
"When we first got here we already made a big impression, just the fact that we were Cass Tech and from Detroit," said band co-VP Tianna Thorton. "There were so many people coming up to us, ‘Wow, you're from Detroit. You're Cass Tech, you're the best. We love you.'"
Band director Sharon Allen said it took a lot of hard work and fundraising to make it to Washington D.C.
"Commitment, dedication and practice. Lots of practice," she said. "This will go down in the archives of the Cass Tech marching band."
The band raised thousands of dollars themselves to make the trip and was given $35,000 combined from the GM and JUST foundations.
