Detroit's Red Bull House of Art commercial shines during Grammys

Commercial featured Detroit artist Tylonn Sawyer

DETROIT – If you were watching the Grammy Awards, you may have noticed something a bit familiar. The Red Bull House of Art, located in Detroit's Eastern Market, was featured in a Detroit-made and inspired 30-second spot, featuring local artist Tylonn Sawyer.

The commercial featured beautiful black and white cityscapes, a variety of Detroit faces, some known, some not. In the ad, Sawyer talks about the city he portrays.

"Detroit, I would say, is a city of soldiers - men and women," says Sawyer. "You kind of have to be to grow up here. It's a city of resilient people - that's what I paint."
