MACKINAC ISLAND, Mich. - Reproductions of some of the Detroit Institute of Arts' masterpieces again are coming to Mackinac Island.
For the second year in a row, the DIA is taking the works to Mackinac as part of its "Inside Out" program, which involves transporting reproductions of masterpieces from the museum's collection to outdoor public spaces.
Nine reproductions will be on view on the island through September.
They represent some of the DIA's most popular pieces, such as Vincent van Gogh's "The Postman" and Claude Monet's "Gladioli."
"Inside Out" currently is at work in 13 Detroit-area communities, where the reproductions will be on display until the middle of next month.
