Differing stories emerge in shooting of man by ICE agent

DETROIT – Multiple stories are emerging after an ICE agent assigned to the Fugitive Apprehension Task Force shot and killed a 20 year old man.

Terrance Kellom was a habitual offender wanted on charges that he attacked and robbed a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint, as well as being a probation absconder.

After task force members entered the home in search of Kellom, the stories start to diverge.

Kellom's family tells Local 4 he was led downstairs from the 2nd floor by law enforcement officers and then shot in the hallway leading to the the living room while on the his knees.

A law enforcement source tells us Kellom was so out of control he fell through the attic ceiling onto the main floor.

Family members tell us that's nonsense and invited us inside the Kellom home.

"Take a look at the ceiling, I want you guys to be witnesses, there's no damage to any of the ceilings," said Karri Mitchell, the family spokesman.

We didn't see any. The attic floor is in disrepair but it doesn't appear that anyone has fallen through the floor. Detroit Police tell us the African American agent has said that Kellom came at him with a hammer, something Kellom's father Kevin tell us is untrue.

Police Chief James Craig told a crowded community meeting Wednesday night that police will conduct a complete and transparent investigation into what happened in the home.

The ICE agent, who we are not naming at this point, has been with the feds for seven years. Prior to that, he was an officer with the Detroit Police Department.
