Diner in Dearborn robbed at gunpoint

Police release pictures of gunman from Sunday morning's incident

DEARBORN, Mich. – Dearborn police have released pictures of a gunman who robbed a diner early Sunday morning.

The robbery happened around 2 a.m. in the area of the Southfield Freeway and Outer Drive.

Police said the robber entered the restaurant and confronted a cashier at gunpoint. He got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The robber is described as a white male, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, wearing a black Carhartt skull cap, and a navy blue hooded sweatshirt with the words "American Original" on the back along with an image of an American flag and Mickey Mouse.

"We are asking for assistance from the community to help identify the perpetrator of this brazen robbery," said Ronald Haddad, Dearborn chief of police. "The bold nature of this crime suggests that the person responsible would not hesitate to put anyone in harm's way.  He should be considered armed and dangerous.  We will continue to use all of the resources at our disposal while working with our local and state partners in law enforcement to apprehend this dangerous criminal."
