Donation jars stolen from gas station in Birmingham

Children's Miracle Network donation jar is stolen from station

BIRMINGHAM, Mich. – Two Children's Miracle Network donation jars were stolen from a Speedway gas station in Birmingham.

At about 3:30 a.m. March 6 a Ford Ranger pick up truck parked at a pump, but the driver didn't want gas. A surveillance video shows a man stealing the donation jars while his female partner distracts the gas station employee.

The female thief distracted the station employee by asking for plastic gas containers. She followed him to the back of the store, getting him away from the counter. While the employee was distracted, the man took the donation jars from the counter, exited the gas station and got back into the vehicle.

The female suspect acted normal and purchased her items before walking out of the store.

A manager noticed the next day that the donation jars were missing. About $40 was stolen from the store.

The donation jars have been replaced in the store.

Police are looking for the thieves.
