SOUTHGATE, Mich. - A young man from Downriver who has a learning disability has become a local celebrity after creating his own small business cutting lawns every day.

Eddie Roulo came up with the idea for Eddie's Lawn Service after he had some trouble finding a job.

"I thought about it and thought about it and I said, 'I don't have to get a job. I can just start my own small business,'" Roulo said.

He has a lot of fun doing his job and rides through neighborhoods in the Downriver area looking for customers. Sometimes, he also has appointments.

"If I didn't like what I was doing, I would not be doing it. Most of it is volunteer, but I get new customers, a few here and there," said Roulo.

He stacks his bicycle with all kinds of equipment, including a lawnmower and other landscaping tools. The bicycle combined with Roulo's dynamic personality helped make his small business a success that a lot of people are talking about on Facebook.

"I knew it was going to get a lot of attention because word goes around quick, you know," he said.

He rides about 25 miles each day and he loves putting in the hard work.

"You never give up. You keep going. If you give up, you don't get anywhere," said Roulo.

He said he normally cuts lawns until around Thanksgiving and then, during the winter time, he transforms his bicycle into a snow plow bicycle and carries equipment he can use to take care of snow for customers.

He said he takes on as many jobs as he can, and sometimes gets help from friends.
