Dozens of cats removed from Warren home

WARREN, Mich. – More than 30 cats have been removed from a woman's home in Warren.

The self-proclaimed "cat lady" lives on Wellington Avenue and is described as friendly and kind by her neighbors. But fed up with the cats breeding and coming and going through an open window, neighbors notified Warren Animal Control.

Animal Control turned to animal rescue groups to take the cats in -- 24 adults and 11 kittens.

Some are too sick to be adopted out. Others are ready to find a new home. Futures 4 Felines is helping facilitate adoptions.

Rescue workers also noted that the home was filled with feces and garbage.

The woman did not respond to Local 4's request for an interview, but did post statements on Facebook about losing her cats.
