As the officer approached the driver's side door, the suspect sped off. The officer pushed himself away from the car when it took off and fell down as a result.

A vehicle pursuit began and the suspect was eventually arrested in a parking lot, police said.

The officer was treated for minor injuries.

Police said they found a plastic bag containing 50 rocks of crack cocaine in the suspect's vehicle.
