DPD refuses to turn over boy found wandering in park to relatives

Boy's mother must be present at station, police say

DETROIT – The Detroit Police Department said they are waiting for the mother of a toddler-age boy found wandering inside Palmer Park Sunday to pick him up.

DPD said relatives of the boy arrived to pick up the boy, who told police he was 2 and named Solomon, but they refused to turn the child over until the mother arrived.

Police said they will be launching an investigation to determine how the boy ended up wandering alone.
