A 30-year-old man has been charged with murder in connection with a triple fatal car crash earlier this month in Highland Park.

Jeremy Sherman-Gill Yancey, of Chesterfield, is accused of recklessly driving drunk on Woodward Avenue during the early morning hours of April 12 when police tried to stop him. Police started to chase him but ended their pursuit of Yancey for safety reasons. Yancey allegedly slammed into a medical transport SUV that was on Woodward Avenue near Cortland Street.

The three people in the SUV -- a 59-year-old woman, 61-year-old man and 57-year-old woman -- all died.

Yancey is charged with three counts of second-degree murder, three counts of operating while impaired causing death and reckless driving causing death.

He's expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
